Answer:

After I finish college, my goal is to work in a job that makes use of all skills gained through education. After working for many years, if possible I would like to open my own business. My first priority will always be my family but also providing them with good opportunities. If time allows it, I hope to travel around the world so that I may meet different people and gain new experiences. I will take care not to have any regrets as I age, such as being unprepared when opportunity comes knocking. As a child growing up on this small island, I learned from watching our elders how important hard work was to living a fulfilling life. I will have to keep these lessons in mind at all times. The only thing holding me back are some medical problems I suffer from which cause me pain daily. I know they won't last forever, but for now, I must endure their effects. I will make sure that every day brings something positive and rewarding into my life. It has been said before that "a journey of one thousand miles begins with one step." This applies especially well to my situation where I am still just taking those first steps toward a better future.

Well, since that time is really coming close, I have a few things set in my mind to do for and in college. To prepare for my resume and application, I plan on doing volunteer work at clean up drives or at orphanages near where I am. I've read somewhere that this will make my application look more appealing to schools; hence, widening my chances into being accepted into my dream school. Once I am in college, I plan on focusing on my studies, but not to the point where I'd have to pull my hair out every night out of frustration -- not like what's happening now. I think that practicing my hobby of (put your hobby here like singing or playing an instrument) would at least keep me sane for the rest of my college years.

22. what is your short term and long term plan after your graduation in college

Succeeding in college is rather like succeeding in life. It’s really much more about youthan it is about college. So the most important place to start is to consider why you’re here, what matters to you, and what you expect to get out it. Even if you have already thought about these questions, it’s good to reaffirm your commitment to your plan as we begin to consider what’s really involved in being a college student. Let’s take a look at successful student have goals.

Photo by Naassom Azevedo on Unsplash

Students who have long term life and career goals see college as one step towards achieving their goals. This can set a purpose and a direction for students. It can increase students’ day-to-day and semester-to-semester motivation because they see that each course is part of a greater whole that will help them in the future. This can also help with persistence, with keeping at it when things are tough. There will be challenges during your college career. There may be times you feel like giving up or you just don’t feel like going to class, reading your textbook, or writing that paper. Having that purpose, that long term goal can help you decide to move past that challenge and keep going. We call this resiliency.

Goals help you set priorities and remain motivated and committed to your college success. Setting a long term goal usually leads to setting medium and short term goals. These are practical goals related to being a student that can help you make better decisions when considering your choices of how to spend your time. Setting priorities with shorter term goals can help you see what you need to do next. Working through goals can help you feel more in control and can reduce stress.

Attitude is the largest factor determining success in college. Work to stay positive and surround yourself with positive people, and you’ll find you are motivated to carry out the activities that will help you succeed in your courses.

Goal Setting

A goal is a result we intend to reach mostly through our own actions.

Things we do may move us closer to or farther away from that result. Studying moves us closer to success in a difficult course, while sleeping through the final examination may completely prevent reaching that goal. That’s fairly obvious in an extreme case, yet still a lot of college students don’t reach their goal of graduating. The problem may be a lack of commitment to the goal, but often students have conflicting goals. One way to prevent problems is to think about all your goals and priorities and to learn ways to manage your time, your studies, and your social life to best reach your goals.

It all begins with setting goals and thinking about priorities.

Photo by Estée Janssens on Unsplash

As you think about your own goals, think about more than just being a student. You’re also a person with individual needs and desires, hopes and dreams, plans and schemes. Your long-term goals likely include graduation and a career but may also involve social relationships with others, a romantic relationship, family, hobbies or other activities, where and how you live, and so on. While you are a student, you may not be actively pursuing all your goals with the same fervor, but they remain goals and are still important in your life.

Goals also vary in terms of time.

Short-term goals focus on today and the next few days and perhaps weeks.

Midterm goals involve plans for this school year and the time you plan to remain in college.

Long-term goals may begin with graduating college and everything you want to happen thereafter.

Often your long-term goals (e.g., the kind of career you want) guide your midterm goals (getting the right education for that career), and your short term goals (such as doing well on an exam) become steps for reaching those larger goals. Thinking about your goals in this way helps you realize how even the little things you do every day can keep you moving toward your most important long-term goals.

28. Do you plan to pursue College? Why or why not?Yes, because if I continue my studies in college, there is a possibility that I will get a good job and earn money.

Answer:

Yes, because if we continue studying in college we can apply job easy especially today.

Answer:

Why the interviewer is asking this question:

This is a double-edged sword question. On the one hand, the employer will typically want you to pursue further training and education that will help you to succeed in the role. On the other hand, the employer is typically not interested in candidates who are only using the role as a stepping stone to higher education and potentially going on to other employers.

The best approach to answering this question:

You need to fully understand the further education needs of the role. In most cases, the role for which you are being hired requires only the education you will be completing by graduation. However, there are some roles where firms expect you to go back for further education at some point in the future, even to the point of financing your advanced degree. So know the role and know the requirements before you answer the question. Then answer the question in a way which shows that you are committed to both learning the role and preparing yourself for potential future advancement.

An example of how to best answer this question for experienced candidates:

"While I don’t have any plans at this time to complete an advanced degree, I am always open to further education in terms of either internal or external training. Since technology changes rapidly in our field, I do my best to stay on top of these changes through my own personal research. In the past, my employer has also sent me to industry training on a periodic basis to make sure that my skills are being kept current. What further training and education do you recommend for your employees in this role?"

An example of how to best answer this question for entry level candidates:

"I view learning as a lifelong process. Even though I will be graduating in the spring, I want to continue to learn as much as I can to be an effective _____. So if that is a combination of internal and external training, I am ready and prepared to continue to learn in the role…"

An example of how you should not answer this question:

"I’ve been in school for almost 16 years and I’m ready to put on the grad cap and then call it quits, at least for a while. It’s time to earn the big bucks. Although maybe in a few years, I might use your tuition assistance plan to go back to school to get a law degree. I understand that’s where the really big bucks are made."
