29. compare your self at the childhood of Rizal
When comparing myself to childhood Rizal, there are many stark contrasts. He was a child prodigy and extremely well-educated, mastering multiple languages and immersing himself in the arts, music and literature from an early age. I on the other hand was no where near as motivated or driven to excel in my academic studies; instead opting for naps during class time rather than learning about American history. In addition to more impressive academic achievements, he also traveled extensively throughout his upbringing and saw parts of Europe that most of us can only imagine. By contrast, I mostly stayed put living out my entire childhood within my home state with limited travel outside it's borders. Despite these differences though, we did share at least one thing in common - youthful innocence and an appreciation for the beauty of nature around us.
